Emergency Room Nurse - PRN for Night Shifts
St. Michael's Elite Hospital, located at the corner of Hwy 6 and the Southwest Freeway in the beautiful community of Sugar Land, Texas, is looking for ER Nurses for PRN Day Shifts. We are seeking highly motivated ER Nurses that are passionate about customer service driven healthcare and exceeding patients' expectations.
Job Duties
The Emergency Room Nurse will provide direct care effectively and efficiently to patients that may have varied and complex needs from trauma or illness that require emergency attention to less complex acuity. The ER Nurse must be able to work with limited supervision and may assume leadership roles with progressive responsibility including but not limited to serving as charge nurse or preceptor to new employees. ER Nurses must possess knowledge about healthcare in general and at specific levels and provide quality care to patients of all ages.
The St. Michael's Medical Hospital ER Nurses will be responsible for monitoring patients' conditions and assessing their needs, providing reports to the on-site physician as the patients' conditions change, administering patients' medication and providing treatment according to physicians' orders. As with each of our team members, you will be responsible for fostering an environment of best-in-class customer service and compassion to our patients and their families.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Current State of Texas RN License
- BLS/Health Care Providers CPR
- ACLS
- PALS
- BSN Preferred
- TNCC Preferred
Education and/or Experience
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;
- At least 2 years of recent emergency room experience;
- Maintain skills and knowledge in the advancement of techniques and protocols;
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise;
- In good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and write in English and to analyze and interpret written company policies, manuals, protocols and/or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports in a concise and organized manner.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, managers, patients, peer employees, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area and volume.
- Able to calculate figures and numbers related to the field of Nursing.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
- Basic computer skills required.
